Our Process

Scheduling:

  • Our website's secure online scheduling tool will guide you through the scheduling process so you can find a good time that works for you.

  • We offer in-person and online appointments.

  • If you need extra help or have questions, visit the Contact page to email us. We will get right back to you.

The First Appointment:

  • Unless otherwise noted, appointments last 50-55 minutes.

  • All necessary forms and waivers can be filled out at the appointment or online.

  • Wear comfortable clothes.

  • Whether online or in-person, if you are bedridden or using a wheelchair or other assistive device, please let us know beforehand so we can make the appropriate accommodations.

  • You do not need any special yoga equipment for the first appointment.

  • Your Seva Yoga therapist will conduct an assessment, including some simple movements to determine mobility, medical history, lifestyle, specific health concerns, and goals.

  • They might ask about your current symptoms, stress levels, diet, sleep patterns, and daily activities.

  • All information is confidential and you are encouraged to share as much as you are comfortable with.

Cost:

  • Appointments are $90 for a private session with Rebecca, a professionally certified yoga therapist.

  • We also offer My Seva discount options. These donation based sessions can be scheduled here.

  • Group yoga classes are $20 for a one-hour class. Your therapist will give you more information and help you find the right group.

  • To hold your space, payment is due upon scheduling using our secure online booking and payment system.

  • We use these reduced rates to make our services accessible and affordable regardless of insurance coverage.

  • We do not take insurance at this time, but can provide you with a super bill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

Goal Setting:

  • Together, you and your Seva Yoga therapist will set realistic and achievable goals.

  • These might include reducing pain, increasing mobility, managing stress, recovering from surgery, adding yoga as a non-opioid intervention for your medical pain management plan, improving sleep, diet, or enhancing overall well-being.

Customized Practice:

  • Based on the assessment, your Seva Yoga therapist has special training to design a personalized, safe yoga therapy practice for your needs.

  • This plan may include specific adjusted asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation/mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and lifestyle recommendations.

Education:

  • Your Seva Yoga therapist will educate you with all you need to know about the chosen practices, ensuring you understand how and why each element is beneficial and also how to implement them safely and effectively into your daily schedule.

Private Sessions & Yoga Classes:

  • As you progress, you are encouraged to participate in weekly or bi-weekly private sessions with your Seva Yoga therapist to make any adjustments to your personalized program.

  • After the initial appointment, you are also eligible to participate in our small group yoga classes to practice what you've learned. Your therapist will help you find the right group.

  • You will also be given a home practice to try to do between sessions. This helps reinforce the techniques learned and allows for continuous progress.

Progress Tracking:

  • Your Seva Yoga therapist monitors progress through your returning private sessions. They may adjust your practice as needed based on your feedback and evolving needs.

Ongoing Support:

  • Your Seva Yoga therapist is dedicated to your ongoing support and encouragement, and can knowledgeably adjust any practice to ensure it remains effective and aligned with your goals.

Outcome Evaluation:

  • After a set period, usually 8 to 10 weeks, you and your Seva Yoga therapist evaluate the outcomes of the therapy. Together you assess improvements in condition, overall well-being, and goal achievement.

Future Planning:

  • Based on the evaluation, you may decide to continue, modify, or conclude the therapy.

  • Your Seva Yoga therapist may also provide recommendations for maintaining health and well-being moving forward.
